Get Rid of those fleas for good, NATURALLY!

Here is what Mom posted to her HolisticCat Group about how she gets rid of the fleas we got when we moved to Kansas.  I have to admit, the food is AWESOME, I like fresh organic garlic, YUMMY!!!!! Plus she mixes it with my favorite…..fresh raw chicken and herbs. What a meal! I like living in Kansas except for the fleas and ticks.  Mom didn’t realize the flea problem though she took extra precautions during our move.  So now it’s combat time!  Mom packs some heavy duty ammunition with Young Living Oils!  The smell takes a bit to get used to because they are so pure and potent.  Mom knows to dilute them before using them on us cats and the dogs due to our sense of smell.  This new stuff she made works wonders!  Mom was caught off guard for the first time and still stomped those little monsters into the ground!  Ok, I’ll quit singing my praises and let you get on with reading what she did for us:

Well, I am going on lack of sleep from the Macaws we are caring for.  Their story is incredible and will be in my new poem/short story book about to be released titled Tears of Courage. They have been through so much with the fire, being almost killed, their companion person not being right here, being uprooted from the old familiar cages and thrust into smaller cages at some strangers’ home who has cats and several more dogs they are not used to!  We do our best to calm them, but it breaks my heart to see their pain and how much they miss Linda.  I must admit, I will miss them when they leave. Linda purchased a motor home and their new cages will be in on Wednesday and that is the day they will leave our home but not our hearts.

Ok, back to the matter at hand before the flood of tears come as the trickles are already here…..

I have discovered that since moving to Kansas I was spoiled when it came to fleas.  I didn’t have a flea problem and my normal, lazy once a month bath and oil collers being replentished 3 times a season went out the door as we crossed the state line!

Once the fleas become an infestation it is so much harder to get rid of and the treatment must be done vigerously and consistantly. Not just the animal either, the carpets, linens, bedding all need washed and sprayed twice a day.  The animals will need sprayed a minimum of twice a day AFTER being bathed with Animal Scents.  I would also suggest vacuuming the carpets twice then shampooing the carpets and furnature and matresses with Thieves cleaner mixed with Orange oil and Purification oil (I put a full bottle of both oils in the Thieves Cleaner just opened bottle, shake well and that is the bottle I use for my carpet shampooer).

I now need to bathe all cats and dogs once a week! You can only imagine how bad I want Michigan weather back!!!!!! LOL. I also replentish the oil collars (recipe is in my book and also in our files section of the website or one of the members can repost it) once a week using V-6 oil in place of the alcohol in order for the oils to stay better on the collar. The collar will saturate itself with the oils and last longer.  I will also place 2 drops of purification oil on my dogs’ collars and a drop on the base of their tails before going outside every time they go outside.

I have also developed a flea away ointment using Rose Ointment, Animal Scents Ointment, Purification oil, Orange oil, Peppermint oil (great to help keep the pets cool on a hot day), Lavender oil, Cedarwood oil, and Thieves oils blended together (more of the Purification, orange, and lavender than the rest) and I get it on my fingers and rub them together then apply it on the ears, belly, inner thighs and base of neck and tail twice daily.  I make a less intense version for cats that are sensitive.  These cats will squint their eyes and back away if the ointment mixture is too strong.  I just dilute it with V-6 oil or one of the ointments (Rose or Animal Scents).

All of this is able to be ingested by the cats and dogs. Mine lick it. Oh, I have also added organic fresh picked, fresh pressed garlic to their daily wet food mix to help get rid of the fleas.  It has been working great!  Hope this helps!

NFL DOG KILLER OUT ON THE STREETS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

HAMPTON, Va. (AP) - Suspended NFL star Michael Vick’s federal dogfighting sentence has ended, freeing him to lobby for a return to the field.

Vick’s attorney Lawrence Woodward said Vick was released from federal custody Monday at his home in Virginia. Vick had been under home confinement for the last two months of his 23-month sentence.

The federal Bureau of Prisons had listed Vick’s release date as Monday.

Freedom will allow Vick to step up his efforts to resume his pro football career. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has said he will review Vick’s status after the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback completes his sentence.

If Vick is able to return to the NFL, it won’t be with Atlanta. The Falcons released Vick in June.
