What IAMS doesn’t want YOU to see!!!!

>
Christmas
The last three letters of his lab identification are “mas,” thus his name. But his life is far from a celebration. An investigator discovered that his ears had been allowed to reach a level of such extreme filth that they required medication. She noticed the problem only by giving Christmas hands-on attention which he had never previously received. His feet have developed sores from years of living on cement and slatted metal.

Fifi
Fifi has been used in Iams studies for at least six years. She hides in the back of her cage constantly.

Maddog
MadDog is frustrated by his life in a 3-foot-by-3-foot cage. He often pushes his food bowl onto the floor to get attention but it hasn’t done any good. He has been caged for Iams metabolic studies for six years. His voice was taken from him surgically during an investigation.

Maisy
Maisy loves attention but rarely gets it. It’s even harder now that she’s been debarked and has no voice. Maisy has been caged since September 18, 1997.

Maxine
Maxine hides in the back of her steel cage and in the gutter of her cement kennel. Maxine has trouble eating when she is locked in the metabolic cage. She was surgically debarked along with 18 other Iams dogs during an investigation. Iams did nothing to stop Maxine or the others from losing their voices.

Mickey
Mickey has spent almost her entire life in Iams metabolic studies. She becomes extremely depressed when taken from her cement kennel to be put into the steel metabolic cage.

No Name
This Iams dog has no name—only a laboratory identification number. She lives in a dark building with no access to the outdoors or natural light, along with approximately 100 other dogs. Because she has no resting board and is not removed from the cage during cleaning time, she often is forced to sit or lie on wet concrete. She is lonely, sweet, and depressed.

Sally
Sally is extremely timid. She was born on April 10, 1996, and has spent the last six years trying to sleep and walk on cold wide-slatted floors. Many dogs injure themselves when their legs become stuck in between the slats.

REWARD to find owners of tortured dog

From: HelpTheAnimals.petfinder.com

Please help us locate the owner of a dog that died

Please help us locate the owner of a dog that died a very violent death. Pictures of the dead dog are in our blog. Please feel free to crosspost this alert to anyone include your veterinarian - perhaps they treated this dog in the past.
As many of you know a dog was left at the NHSPCA - the dog died in the container it was left in outside the animal shelter and the owner has not voluntarily come forward.

The 7-9 year old black and white female Cocker Spaniel was found in a dark blue Sterilite plastic bin on October 14th. The bin was marked “Bar Stuff” with Christmas bows in the bottom. Evidence indicates the dog died in the container from suffocation. Evidence also indicates the dog struggled to escape the sealed container. The dog was wearing a lilac colored collar with blue and yellow flowers. The dog at some point in her life gave birth to a litter of pups and had an inflammation of the tear duct known as “cherry eye” in her right eye. She had no name tag and was not microchipped.

The cruelty investigator has given the dog the name of Miranda - first to give her the dignity of a name and the second is that if the owner is identified, he/she will be read their miranda rights under state law upon being arrested for this crime.

The case is currently under investigation by the NHSPCA and the Stratham Police Department. Anyone with information is urged to call the NHSPCA investigator at 603-772-2921 extension 111 or call the Stratham Police Department. Anonymity can be granted if requested. The HSUS has offered a $2,500 reward.

The New Hampshire SPCA is seeking donations to help pay for an outside surveillance system to ensure that the next time an animal is abandoned on our doorstep, we will be able to identify the person and bring charges. The New Hampshire SPCA depends on community support to help care for homeless animals. Donations may be made to the SOS Fund via the web site at www.nhspca.org, by phone at (603) 772-2921 or by mail to SOS Fund, PO Box 196, Stratham NH 03885.

The New Hampshire SPCA is a community resource center that provides animal adoption, education, investigation and sheltering services in a professional and compassionate way. The Adoption Center is open from 11 am – 4pm on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11 am – 7pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and closed on Wednesday. Wild Baby Animals, what to do if you find one

Posted in: Animal Rescue, Education of the Week, informational, Tip of the Day — Tigger the Terror @ 10:01 am

If you are ever in doubt of what to do, please locate your nearest Wildlife Rescue Organization for help.

The most common misconception is that a mother will reject a baby if the baby is handled by a human. This is not ALWAYS true. However, mothers will not return if humans or pets are around. A baby animal’s best hope for survival is its mother.

PAWS has prepared a web-process that will walk you through what to do if you find a baby animal that may be in need of assistance:

You found a baby mammal
You found a baby bird

Special cases:
You found a…
Baby bunny
Seal pup or fawn
Opossums
Baby duck, goose, quail, or killdeer

If this information helped you save the life of a wild animal, remember that PAWS helps thousands of baby animals every year, and we could use your help with them too.
