Cat-n-Scratch

Gunny is a rescue pit bull who was used as a “bait” dog at a dog fighting kennel in North Carolina .  He was left for dead after his body was too tattered to be of further use to his owners.   Gunny lost a leg, and nearly starved to death but was nursed back to health.  He is now an ambassador for his rescue organization and has helped raise a lot of money and public attention for them.

He is currently in a national photo contest where the winner gets to be in the Tournament of Roses Parade with international TV coverage, along with all sorts of other publicity opportunities, free food for the rescue shelter, etc.  Gunny is currently in 1st place in the contest which goes through the end of November.

Hey Everyone,

I need help finding special heroic people whom have went out of their way to help change the world by helping one animal at a time (or even just one animal) to place in the line up as a Pawz Applauze Nominee.  Their stories will air on my show every week then each year, the audience will vote for their favorite nominee to be named Pawz Applauze Winner for the year.  We are talking about having listeners vote each month for their favorite nominee of the month then the final 12 will be presented for the audience to choose their favorite for the overall winner of the year.  This will help make the choices easier for the listener.

Prizes for the winner are still being gathered but we have books, CDs, pet supplies all lined up for the winner.  We’d like to get enough donated items that we can give each monthly winner something special.  So if you have pet products or books you wish to submit for prizes, please contact me and I’ll give you the mailing address to send your merchandise to.  Every Pawz Applauze Nominee will receive a certificate of thanks for their work in the animal kingdom.
