1. MAKE SURE TEXAS TECH ENDS LIVE CAT LABS FOR GOOD
http://www.kinshipcircle.org/letter_library/letter_new.asp?LetterID=1871&seriesfirst=true
For two decades, Tech University Health Science Center (TTUHSC) trainees
have driven plastic tubes down cats’ windpipes, causing them to bleed or
swell. Constant intubation can lead to collapsed lungs or death…

2. TIME SENSITIVE! NEW TRIAL: 11/24/09
NO JUSTICE FOR 7 DOGS WHO DIED INSIDE HOT VAN?
http://www.kinshipcircle.org/letter_library/letter_new.asp?LetterID=1844&seriesfirst=true

AN ANONYMOUS SOURCE SENT THIS UPDATE TO KINSHIP CIRCLE:
From: note@note2email.com / Date: Fri, 20 Nov 2009
Nov. 24 is new trial date for Mary Wild, charged with killing 7 dogs in an
overheated van. This trial has been postponed several times and has dropped
off the press radar. Several sources recently confirmed that Mary Wild [the
dog handler who left 8 dogs overnight in a scorching van; all died but one]
will attend the Kankankee, IL dog shows Nov 28-29. This is AFTER her trial,
so does she expect to be let off free? Or does she know the trial will be
postponed again? I hope this case does not disappear into oblivion… Many
people are appalled at what happened but are afraid too speak out for fear
of retribution from the Wild family. Signed: A concerned dog lover

3. RELEASE CANCUN TIGERS FROM MISERY
http://www.kinshipcircle.org/letter_library/letter_new.asp?LetterID=1861&seriesfirst=true
In 2004, Hurricane Wilma ravaged Cancun, Mexico shops, including Pepe’s
Restaurant. When owner Gil Jose Juarez (Pepe) fled, he left his exotic wild
cats trapped in the rubble…later to live amid feces, filth, rotten food…

4. GET SERIAL CAT KILLER OFF NEW YORK STREETS
http://www.kinshipcircle.org/letter_library/letter_new.asp?LetterID=1865&seriesfirst=true
Sean Lynde killed girlfriend Rachael Strate’s four cats. In October 2008, he
allegedly poisoned Cleo, whose body was found with a mouthful of detergent
behind a dryer. He bludgeoned Zoe so severely, a vet euthanized her…

5. TWO DOGS SHOT AT POINT BLANK RANGE IN NEW YORK
http://www.kinshipcircle.org/letter_library/letter_new.asp?LetterID=1867&seriesfirst=true
Robert Bushnell confessed to police on 9/30/09 that he killed Amy Tubbs’ two
dogs. He fired two bullets into Rocky, a 5-year-old Alaskan malamute, and a
single bullet into Mocha, a 7-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever…

6. SHOT IN THE DARK - AUSTRALIA’S KANGAROO MASSACRE
http://www.kinshipcircle.org/letter_library/letter_new.asp?LetterID=1828&seriesfirst=true
Australia’s wildlife culls are permitted to take up to 10,000 kangaroos per
night. Babies found in a slain mother’s pouch may be decapitated with a
sharp blade. Older joeys are bludgeoned or shot at point blank range…

7. SAVE GRAY WOLVES SO WE CAN SLAUGHTER THEM?
http://www.kinshipcircle.org/letter_library/letter_new.asp?LetterID=1854&seriesfirst=true
Montana opened fire on 9/15/09. Idaho’s race to kill its wolves began
9/1/09. Where is the intelligent strategy to sustain the very wolves that
Americans salvaged from near extinction?

8. ASK ASTRA ZENECA & GLAXOSMITHKLINE TO DROP HLS
http://www.kinshipcircle.org/letter_library/letter_new.asp?LetterID=1850&seriesfirst=true
Seven undercover investigations have exposed horrific HLS abuse: Technicians
push naso-gastric tubes into dogs’ lungs, drowning them. Animals dangling
from slings or cowering in cages are left to seize, vomit and collapse…

9. STOP THE MILITARY’S WAR ON INNOCENTS
http://www.kinshipcircle.org/letter_library/letter_new.asp?LetterID=1821&seriesfirst=true
Every year the U.S. Department of Defense wounds and kills hundreds of
thousands of animals — exhausting taxpayer dollars to amputate goats’ legs,
bomb pigs, and inject monkeys with toxins to mimic nerve gas strikes…

10. MUTILATED SHARKS ARE THE MAIN INGREDIENT IN FIN SOUP
http://www.kinshipcircle.org/letter_library/letter_new.asp?LetterID=1856&seriesfirst=true
Until fishermen stop severing fins and dumping mutilated sharks at sea, many
species remain vulnerable to extinction. An estimated 73 million sharks are
killed annually — most sold for shark fin soup, an Asian delicacy…

Here is a sample letter to use as an example:

The Office of the Bronx County District Attorney:

Thank you for recognizing public concern in the case of Tiger Lily, a kitten
scorched alive inside an oven on May 6, 2009. I understand Cheyenne Cherry,
17, is charged with felony aggravated animal cruelty, burglary, arson,
criminal trespass, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

I respectfully ask for your utmost deliberation in the investigation of
Cherry and her accomplice, who allegedly broke into ex-roommate Valerie
Hernandez’s home and trapped Tiger Lily inside an activated stove.
Apparently, they ransacked the apartment and raised the stove’s heat before
fleeing with stolen items. The girls never heard Tiger Lily’s last screams
and scratches against the oven door.

Please seek maximum adult incarceration of two years for felony animal
cruelty. Cherry also faces possible jail terms of 15 years for second-degree
burglary, one year for arson, and four years for criminal mischief. I urge
you to hold both teens accountable. Both require psychological evaluation
and therapy. Both should be barred from possessing or working with animals.

At the very least, they ought to be interned in a juvenile detention hall
until age 18 (if applicable). Then, reassessment of the girls’ personality
traits can determine if adult imprisonment is necessary.

Adolescents who commit brutal crimes against humans usually begin with
animals. Columbine shooter Eric Harris, 18, smashed mice with a crowbar and
set them on fire. Washington D.C. serial killer Lee Boyd Malvo killed stray
cats with a slingshot. Kip Kinkle blew up a cow and burned a live cat. He
then shot 25 classmates and murdered his parents in Springfield, Oregon.
After Luke Woodham, 16, mortally stabbed his mother and shot nine others, he
confessed to bludgeoning his dog with baseball bats and setting her on fire.

These murderers, like Cherry, were able to torture and kill without remorse.
Indeed, the intentional burning of an animal is a “particularly significant
predictor of violent and even homicidal behavior,” says Dr. Randall Lockwood
of ASPCA Anti-Cruelty Initiatives and a frequent consultant for cruelty
investigators, law enforcers and mental health professionals.

Cherry “thought we would play a joke on Valerie.”  But she and her friend
are not guilty of warped humor or bad choices. Roasting a defenseless kitten
is the calculated action of a sociopath and a predator.

Thank you for prosecuting Cherry and her accomplice to the fullest degree
allowed by law.

Sincerely,
Your Name

Writing with IMPACT show 120

People want to help change the world; or is it more like people want things THEIR way?  Writing with impact can help a person collect thoughts, gather evidence, and help prepare a paper that will convince by persuasion rather than portray ignorance, immaturity and anger.  The information for this show was taken from an article written by Brenda Shoss, president of Kinship Circle, freelance writer/graphic designer and journalist.

For the entire article/brochure, please visit Kinship Circle and you will find it under the brochures to download section of their website.  They have tons of wonderful information that we are going to try to share with you over the following months.

Urgent Notice from Kinship Circle

Below you will find a copy of the plea sent to me, DJ Ice, by Kinship Circle. Dispite our requests and pleas to Montcalm County to stop animal suffering by selling companion animals to R & R Reasearch, Inc; hundreds of animals are still falling into the hands of evil tortures in the name of science. The only way to stop this is to call upon the animal lovers of the world to step up and become the voice for the voiceless. We need to unite as one and send well written, well thought out letters to the Montcalm County Officials asking them to please stop this madness. Thank you on behalf of the animals your voice will help save from agony.

SAMPLE LETTER —
This letter is prepared to inform you about the issue.
Try to shorten and personalize your letter before sending.

Dear Montcalm County Officials:Please do not send companion animals to research laboratories. I implore you
to cancel the county’s contract with R & R Research, Inc. and never again
engage a Class B dealer to dispose of homeless animals.

Behind a lab’s closed doors, animals undergo invasive surgeries, toxic
dosing, food/water deprivation, and prolonged pain. Still, your taxpayers
subsidize pound seizure whether they like it or not. They indirectly fund
animal tests that delay medical progress with misleading results.

It is particularly irresponsible to support animal research when strides in
in-vitro technology, computer automation, and many more animal-free methods
now uncover data relevant to human health and safety.

Clearly, there is no altruism in dealing cats and dogs for research. There
is only profit. In 2006, USDA records reveal R & R Research of Howard City,
Michigan grossed $196,723 from the sale of 621 dogs and cats. Moreover, R &
R flaunts an unethical history. A 2006 USDA citation shows R & R illegally
transported dogs chained to a livestock trailer. In 2005, R & R was cited
for procuring dogs and cats from Howard City, where there is no pound.
Apparently officials sold their strays to R & R.

Before that, the Michigan Attorney General ordered R & R to pull its “animal
shelter” listing in the yellow pages. In the 1990s, a WOOD TV investigative
video portrayed R & R owners gassing animals in a corroded “CO2 barrel.”

At the very least, Montcalm officials ought to be embarrassed by their
relationship with a Class B dealer. I strongly encourage you to terminate
your contract with R & R and permanently stop pound seizure — a shady
practice abandoned by most counties nationwide.

This issue has generated worldwide publicity via the Internet. I look
forward to your feedback.

Thank you,
