Not Guilty! A Vigil for all Victims of BSL.

Last July DDAWatch held a very successful Candle Light Vigil for Bruce.

This year we are hosting Not Guilty! A Vigil for all Victims of BSL.

The vigil will take place on Saturday 24th July from 4pm to 7pm at Richmond Terrace,

City of Westminster, London, SW1A

Everyone is welcome but please note that DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ATTEND THIS EVENT. It is our turn to 

speak up for them so their presence is not required and they would prefer the sofa at home anyway!!!

We are asking everyone who attends to write a personal letter stating why they are opposed to B.S.L.

At 5pm two representatives of DDAWatch will be escorted to Downing Street to hand in your letters.

If you cannot attend but would like us to hand in a letter on your behalf please post your letter to:

To add a fun element to our peaceful vigil, there will be a mystery PRIZE for the best T-shirt of the day,

best banner and after the event, best of photograph from the vigil, get creative folks!!

Please ensure all letters are handsigned and ideally an address for any

response to be sent directly back to yourself.

A selection of letters may be read out at the Vigil although names/addresses will not be given out.

Please state on the reverse of your letter if you do not wish your letter to be read out.

Please bring posters and banners and keep all dialogue with the public polite and friendly.

We wish to share our message in a positive and memorable way.

We have a job to do, to educate the public and campaign peacefully to the

government and we need to engage rather than enrage.

We hope many of you will be able to attend the vigil and show your support

for the repeal of Section One, DDA.

Please bring cameras and soft drinks. Poster and banner ideas will be uploaded to

DDAWatch facebook group in the next few days.

We are also hoping to do a live broadcast of the event and would love to

Today I received a wonderful email from a Colorado friend of Maria Daines about Oreo, the dog that was killed by ASPCA!  I will post about that as well in a minute for those whom have not heard the ruckus on FaceBook about it.

Anyway, she sent me this link and I want to share it with you.  As an advocate for the pitbull, I feel it is important for people to remember that we have rights as American Citizens and the government is trying VERY hard to take those rights away from us.  Each year, more laws are put into effect without the American people knowing anything about it.  This MUST stop…….Remember, WE elected them and WE can kick them out of office.  THEY WORK FOR US, not the other way around.

When we don’t watch what our government, local or National, is doing, laws such as BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) are voted on and passed without running by the American people.  It is time we took a stand and reclaimed our rights.  Tell YOUR town, YOUR state, YOUR National Governments that we’re not going to stand by and watch our rights get taken away from us.  Take that stand today.

The city of Des Moines, Iowa wants to kill my dog because he is a pitbull. They think he is a “Vicious Dog” because of his specific breed. Which, in turn, makes him a “Dangerous Animal” and subject to a city ordinance that will allow them to murder my innocent dog.
I have appealed this judgement and must now appear before the city council…but I can’t plead my case, I can’t introduce any new evidence which includes all the letters I’ve collected from my community about what a great dog Mojo is. So my plan is e-mails and mailing pictures and letters to the city council members before the meeting. Thank goodness it’s my civic right to contact them directly. I would appritiate any advice or letters I could send off to them.
Please, I am begging, anyone who cares to write a letter and e-mail it to me so I can send them. I’m hoping this will change her decision to kill Mojo. If they can understand that he has impacted so many people and has so many friends.
I have owned my pit since he was 4 weeks old, he is now 5 years now. My neighbors small dog attacked him and my dog bite him, a warning bite to say the least. No significant injuries, no stitches, and neither dog was on a leash (it happened in the hallway of my apartment) So now they want to destroy my dog because my neighbors LIED and said the bite was unprovoked.
I am working on getting an attorney but right now I’m writing, making phone calls, e-mailing, and begging for help.

He has been in the pound for a month now.They won’t let me see him and I know he is so scared! They don’t walk him, he has an automatic feeder and the only time they take him out is to clean the tiny kennel. That’s the only social interaction he has! He belongs on my couch, taking a nap!

Well, Denver did it again, folks!  Only this time they broke a fence to get to the dog to STEAL it, then returned the dog, threatening to euthanize him due to his characteristics of a Pit Bull.  THEN they busted in on this poor woman with guns and brute force over a DOG THAT DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Help The Pawz Cauze and ROVERlution convince Denver to drop their Pit Bull Ban and begin punishing the DEED not the BREED!  Below you will find the email addresses to the Denver city officials.  Thank you for your help.
